Summer Vaca Must Have Beauty Products!

Image

This 4th of July my family and I went away to Naples, Fl. for a little mini vacation. In preparation for this trip, I decided I should bring a condensed version of my normally large, cosmetic bag.

My collection of beauty products is not unusually large. I pack all of my make-up brushes, eyebrow shapers, and sponges into the smaller bag, and the rest of my make-up is mixed together in the larger bag.

So to give you a visual, I packed all the make-up that I took to Naples in the bag shown in the picture above, and let me tell you, it was not easy!

My plan was to pack just enough make-up that I could fit it into my purse and take it with me wherever I went.

Mission accomplished!

Alright, lets get down to it. What did I end up bringing with me?

#1. Covergirl BB Cream with broad spectrum SPF 15 – very important, seeing as I would be out on the beach or walking around outside often, and the South Florida sun is unforgiving!

#2. bareMinerals Mineral Veil – as my setting powder for my BB cream. Also important because no one wants to look oily on vacation (or really anytime!).

#3. Dior Bronze Matte Sunshine SPF 20 – between my mineral veil and BB cream, my face can start to look on the pail side, so my bronzer is a must!

#4. Physicians Formula Glow and Mood Boosting Blush in Rose – I am obsessed with this product. If you read my “Hump Day” post, you will already know my strong feelings toward this product. I did a lot of research on the best drugstore blushes and this one comes in second to a considerably more expensive blush. In my opinion, however, it should come in first! It is a beautiful, subtle blush. Cannot leave the house without it!

#5. ‘Crème de Rose’ Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm SPF 10 – This lip balm was given to me as a gift, and I love it. I have been using the same container for almost  two years now, and I still have plenty of product left. The scent is very pleasant, and it really hydrates and smooths your lips, while also adding a subtle hint of color! Great for a natural, beachy look.

#6. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Bourbon – I have green eyes, so this is the perfect eyeliner for me. Glides on easily, has a slight bit of sparkle to it, and really makes my eyes pop. In my experience it lives up to its long-wear claims. I apply it first thing in the morning and it still looks great before I take it off that night.

#7 The Color Workshop Water-Proof Mascara – This is an inexpensive, dollar store mascara, that normally I would pass up and never consider buying. The only reason I have this product in my possession is because my sweet little cousin Crystal gave this to me for Christmas last year. I kept it in my make-up bag for a long time and never thought I would get any use out of it. When I finally did get around to using it, I fell in love! It is definitely water-proof, it is never clumpy, and always gives my eyelashes a soft, natural look. Definitely a must have product for me!

The Brushes: I managed to stuff my bareMinerals Full Flawless Face Brush, and Flawless face Brush into my tiny bag. These are two of my favorite powder brushes of all time. The Full Flawless is great for applying a thin layer of powder all over your face and then buffing it out. I love the Flawless Face Brush for applying my bronzer and blush – helpful multitasking brush!

That’s it! That is all I brought with me. Very basic, very natural, products that will help keep you looking fresh all day, while also protecting your skin from the harmful effects of the sun!

Looking back there was one thing I really wish I had with me…

The Wet n Wild coloricon Bronzer SPF 15 in Reserve Your Cabana would have been useful to me. It is a complimentary finishing touch to my make-up routine. I use it as a highlight on my cheek bones and down the brim of my nose.

The only reason I did not end up bringing this with me, is because it was too large to fit in my small bag. Definitely a poor choice on my part!
