I have recently rediscovered the Almay make-up brand. I use to have a few products a few years ago (when I knew quite a lot less about make-up), but I haven’t used any of their products in a long time.
The other day while perusing the cosmetic aisle in my local target I stumbled across the Almay intense i-color-smokey-i kit for GREEN eyes. I was really excited seeing the pretty purple and pink colors in this palette. I had recently learned (from my multiple hours of youtube video tutorials) that purple eye shadows make green eyes pop.
So, I picked up this smokey eye kit for $7.49. This is a little on the pricey side of what I would really like to pay for “drugstore” eyeshadow, but I liked that the palette was set up exactly how you should apply it to your eyelid. This arrangement is really good for me, since my eye make-up application skills are severely lacking.
Okay, lets get down to business.. I love this product. The beautiful purple color has excellent pay-off. I wouldn’t say it is completely opaque, however it does come off nice and dark, with an almost undetectable touch of sparkle. I really love the grey color for your crease. It is not very vivid by any means. It does, however, do a great job of highlighting your crease softly. The pink is very pretty and light. Be careful not to pack on the pink color or else your brow bone will look practically white, with a lot of sparkle.
Overall, this is a great product and absolutely worth the $7.49 if your are looking for some fool proof, high quality eyeshadow. Even if you don’t have green eyes, if you like the colors I would definitely recommend you go for it!
Definitely a great Diva for Less find!
