Hump Day Pick Me Up!

Image

It’s Hump Day! I don’t know about you, but when Hump day comes along, I really feel it. So, in order to prevent the feeling of drudging through the day I like to have fun with my make-up! It seems to give me a little extra boost of energy and motivation.

I took pictures and really payed attention to what I did with my make-up today so you all could see! I really enjoy seeing what other people do with their make-up and what products they use, so I hope you’ll enjoy my attempt!

These are some of the products I used as my base when getting started on my make-up routine this morning:

Step 1: I adore Covergirl’s BB Cream! I just recently bought this product and I can’t say enough good things about it. I apply a thin layer and then let it dry on my face (if I don’t let it soak in and set on my face, it will make me look oily all day) before doing anything else.

Side note: I use my fingers to apply the BB cream to my face.

  • Covergirl BB Cream 1.35 fl oz. – $6.94

Step 2: I set the BB cream with my Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. Since the BB cream already has a enough coverage for me, I don’t really need another foundation on foundation powder. I use the mineral veil to help set my BB cream and give my face a nice buffed out matte look.

For those of you wondering, I use the Full Flawless Face Brush from Bare Minerals. This brush does a really great job of buffing and applying a thin layer of powder (that way you keep from looking cakey)

  • Original Miner Veil 0.3 oz. – $20.00
  • Full Flawless Face Brush – $28.00

Step 3: For my concealer I use Summer Bisque by Bare Minerals. I really like this because it is kind of a brightening concealer. I do not believe it has great coverage, so you might like this for setting a heaving concealer. Either way, I recommend this product because the brightening qualities are flattering.

And for this I use my Bare Minerals concealer brush. This brush is a sort of interchangeable for me. It is just your run of the mill concealer brush in my opinion. It is a little higher quality of course, but I wouldn’t say its totally necessary to spend the money on this one.

  • Summer Bisque Concealer 0.8 oz. – $18.00
  • Bare Minerals Concealer Brush – $20.00

Step 4: Bronzer, blush, and highlight. First I apply Dior Bronze Matte Sunshine in 003 Amber Matte to the hollows of my cheeks. I am no expert when it comes to bronzer, but I definitely enjoy this product. It works so well for me I believe this will be on my repurchase list (even for the price). I think having a quality bronzer is a helpful product to have in your cosmetic arsenal.

Next I apply my blush. I love my Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow and Mood Boosting Blush in the color Rose! The scent is very pleasant, so much so, that my boyfriend who cannot stand any kind of artificial scent in anything, told me my make-up smells good now that I use this blush! Aside from the scent, this product is a beautiful, high-quality, and subtle blush. I haven’t found a skin tone it doesn’t look good on.

Lastly, I apply my highlight. I use Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer (with SPF 15-Bonus!). Even though this product is marketed as a bronzer, the buzz online told me otherwise. Using this bronzer in the shade “Reserve Your Cabana” as highlight works really well (and for really cheap!). I use this across my cheek bones and down my nose. I love it – can’t get enough of it.

  • Dior Bronze Matte Sunshine 0.31 oz. – $49.00
  • Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush – $11.99
  • Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer – $3.99

Step 5: Eyeshadow, eye liner, and mascara! I am obsessed with my new “Comfort Zone” palette from Wet n Wild! Today, I followed the instructions on the back of the package 1+2+3. Very simple, but the colors are beautiful, so you really don’t need to do a lot! The only thing I wish I could figure out is the “definer” colors. I always end up looking like a clown. The colors are really harsh and unforgiving and I cannot manage to apply them to the corner of my eyelid correctly. Oh well! Time to watch more YouTube tutorials!

After I finish doing my eye shadow I use my L’Oreal Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner. The color I have is “blackest black”, but I hear great things about both of the other colors this product is available in. This gel liner is truly a great product, and definitely on my repurchase list. You need very little of the actual product to get a nice thick line on your eyelid. The gel liner goes on smoothly, so it is very user friendly. Good quality gel liner.

Lastly, I apply my mascara and eyelash curler. Today I used my Dior Show Mascara. I love this mascara, but honestly, there are so many quality mascara’s in the drug store that it is not necessary to purchase this particular one. I consider this my indulgence product!

Dior Show Mascara is not really clumpy, it really lengthens your eyelashes, and almost gives them the look of false lashes!

TIP: If your mascara is starting to dry out and clump, put a couple of drops of saline solution (contact lens solution) into your mascara tube. Works wonders!

Last but not least I curl my eyelashes. I just use a cheap drugstore curler because I cannot honestly tell the difference between a $2 curler and $10 curler.

  • L’Oreal Gel Liner 0.81 oz. – $8.09
  • Diorshow Mascara – $25.00
  • Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Eyeshadow Palette – $4.99

Here comes the embarrassing part: I figured I should give you some pictures of the final product, because that is what I always want at the end of these posts that I read from different bloggers, so Ta-da! This is me at the end of all of that (even though I have a weird look on my face, and the picture quality is not great).

The End! Hope you enjoyed, and if you stayed with me, give yourself a pat on the back, because I know this post was long winded!

HAPPY HUMP DAY!
