Review: e.l.f. Mist and Set

This past weekend a family friend got married, and my mom and I helped set up and run the reception. I knew I would be working for 6+ hours and I didn’t want to be worried about my make-up melting off my face (as it so easily does, due to my oily skin). I spent far too much time getting ready the morning of, and I didn’t want all of my work to go to waste before the party even began. So, it occurred to me that during my recent trip to Target, I had purchased the e.l.f. Mist and Set make-up spray, and I had not gotten the chance to really try it yet.

As soon as I finished the final touches of my make-up routine, I doused myself in this spray. I held it a good distance from my face to ensure that it applied evenly on my skin. First off, I have to say, it felt very refreshing to mist on my face, so that is definitely a plus. As the party began (a couple of hours after I had set my make-up), I went to the mirror to confirm that I wasn’t wicked witch of the west status yet, and I was happy and surprised to find my make-up still looked like I had just applied it! Fast forward two more hours into the party, cleaning up from a fallen wedding cake (yikes!), refilling food platters, and my face still looked put together! This is huge for me! My skin never allows my make-up to stay the way I want it to. I melt within a matter of a few hours, and I end up having to bring touch up make-up with me. At the end of my six or more hour stint of helping with the party, cleaning up the aftermath, and running through the rain a couple of times, my face still looked great!

By hour seven or eight, I had finally reached the point of melting. Luckily, at that point I was home and ready to wash my make-up off anyway! You can’t expect that this $3 setting spray will work miracles and keep you looking perfect for 12+ hours. However, if you are looking for a product to help you get through the day, this is it!

You can be sure that I will be using this setting spray almost everyday from now on! Definitely a great Diva for Less buy!!
